Interesting isn’t it?
People who vote for them have no idea who the Teals take their orders from?

I’m sure they meant no harm and have proven that by- doing absolutely nothing for the country other than collecting their huge salaries and enjoying free travel and accommodation ( 5 star of course).

Can anyone explain why you vote for these people and are you disappointed at their collective failure?

I think people vote for these people, because the are tired of the two mains.  Labor and the coalition.  The coles and woolies of parliament.   Sad

It could also be their policies. There is a massive policy gap between labor and the coalition.

The TEALs are dilettantes... haven't achieve a thing for Australia in return for a little loose spending change...

We don't need that kind of Independent - we need a whole new party ....

The Teals ?

Just a trend - distraction to undermine.

Nothing serious - back to a trend.

Their intention seems to be to undermine the Liberals but they seem to undermine Labor more.

Teal is a Blue Green the intention is to occupy the position of Green Liberal. This is smart because so much of the Liberal position on Green issues are undermining their supporters interests. For example farming communities there is nobody more impacted by things like Global warming then they are but they support the party that is selling them out on their most important issue and have been doing so for decades.

Don't see it working in the medium term.

Yes but independents will never be that answer. The Australian Democrats were in a similar political position but with a party.

They failed when the guys whose mission was to keep the b'stds honest became the b'stds that needed to be kept honest.

Don't see anything on the horizon to cover this space. The Australian democrats (Meg) broke the model.

One Nation made a play for right of the crazy right position but that was always doomed with the Liberals already occupying that space.

Former Liberal MP Tim Wilson to contest his former seat of Goldstein

Tim Wilson talks to the media in front of a campaign sign for his challenger Zoe Daniel
Liberal candidate Tim Wilson has been preselected by the Liberal Party to contest his former federal lower house seat of Goldstein in Melbourne.

Former Liberal MP Tim Wilson has been picked by his party to contest his former seat of Goldstein at the next Federal election.

Wilson previously held the seat in Melbourne's bayside area between 2016 and 2022, but lost it to independent Zoe Daniel at the last election.

His endorsement follows a meeting of 300 Liberal Party members on Sunday afternoon, who chose him out of the three candidates.

A statement from the Liberal Party's Victorian division said Wilson was attempting to win back the seat because of his "deeply principled commitment to integrity in public service".

"He is committed to strengthening the pathway to home ownership for young residents in Goldstein to make owning their own home a reality," a spokesperson said.

Billboard sits on a street in the seat of Goldstein outside a suburban home.
Tim Wilson lost the seat of Goldstein to independent Zoe Daniel at the federal election in 2022.   Smiley

Wilson said the key issues of concern in the Goldstein electorate were the cost of living and home ownership.

"Families are struggling to pay their mortgages. Grandparents are having to pick up their grandchildren's school fees," he said.

Goldstein includes the suburbs of Beaumaris, Black Rock, Highett, Sandringham, Hampton, Brighton, Gardenvale, Elsternwick and Caulfield South.

Wilson was one of six MPs to lose once safe Liberal seats to independents at the 2022 federal election.   Smiley

He is currently undertaking a PHD in economics.

Current Goldstein MP Zoe Daniel confirmed via social media platform X she would run again in the next election.   Smiley

It comes a day after the Victorian Liberal Party endorsed fintech executive Amelia Hamer as its candidate for Kooyong - the seat currently held by independent Monique Ryan, who won it off former treasurer Josh Frydenberg at the last election.   Smiley

Hamer was one of four candidates who made their preselection pitch at a meeting of 300 party members at the Hawthorn Town Hall on Saturday.

She grew up in Kooyong - Melbourne's affluent inner east - having lived in Hawthorn as a child and now in Kew.

Eventually all of Australia will fall apart and shatter into many different little 'independent' nations.
It was heading that way with the States becoming more culturally different from one another. Someone from Sydney visiting Melbourne, it was almost another country.

But now Australia has gone backwards like some One Nation of mediocrity where all States are much the same.

This won't last, much like Wokeism.

Eventually provincials like Riverina, Cape York, New England and many more will require political empowerment and priorities that suit their needs rather than be compromised by laws, regulations and policies that just suit the minority some areas (ACT, Melb &Syd areas)  over the rest.

Anyone who voted in the poll above that the Teals have improved Australia are mentally deficient.

I'd go as far as to say morons.

When the Democrats and Greens appeared, it offered more choice. But like the Liberals absorbing the Nationals. The Democrats have been absorbed.
The Nationals are just the Liberal's pet dog now.
The Democrats have been dismantled by the Liberals.
The Greens have lost the plot being the ALP's gimp.

There's 3 Parties that should have remained 'independant' and built upon their own strengths, rather than compromise themselves for the benefit of the ALP & Liberals.
Even Unionism has diminished in the shadow of the ALP.

One can only hope the Independents 'stay independent' away from alliances with the two major parties. In time, they can only get better and stronger if they remain so.

Q.
"Who owns the Teals?"

A.
The spirit of SATAN.

Look at how they vote.

'Humanists', 1 and all.

Only vote [ostensibly] morally.      [.....just like the Liberal Party [ostensibly] do]

Just like the spirit of SATAN would.
