It's not small, Lee. On some days and in some places, the temperature rose 5 or 6 degrees above average. On some days it was hotter than any temperature on record. On some days it was so hot people died. Then on other days things cooled down and it was all good.

I imagine you've been told that dozens of times. Still, it took you a while to understand that the LA fires weren't spread by budget cuts or black deputy mayors or tranny firepersons or the fire chief's gender or her difficulty pumping water that didn't exist, but just good old wind and heat.

I thought a volunteer fire fighter would have understood that to begin with, so it just goes to show.

Especially when you look at the 66million over budget expense the previous year. Budgets approved in late November2024 doesn't allow time to recruit new fire officers, and train them. The union did a deal to lower the number for increased pay. How did that work out? Roll Eyes

And also I didn't say anything about the fire spread other than wind causes rapid escalation.

Girl Fireman Rushes Into Burning Building To Tell Victim He's Too Heavy But The Real Firemen Will Be Here In 15 Minutes

"Don't worry! I'm here to stand next to you until someone who can help you gets here," Santos was heard shouting to the suffering man. "The real firefighters will be here soon. I can't carry you out of here. I'm a girl. Isn't that awesome?"

Crowley of the Los Angeles Fire Department wrote a memo to the fire commission last month saying the overtime cut was creating “unprecedented operational challenges” — both in fulfilling everyday tasks like payroll processing and long-term planning for major emergencies like big wildfires or earthquakes.

She wrote that specialized programs, including air operations and disaster response, relied on staff working overtime hours and were at risk of becoming less effective. She added that the loss of civilian positions was also squeezing firefighters who had to backfill some of those responsibilities.

In November, Chief Crowley wrote a separate memo to the commission focusing on the bigger picture: a fire department that has not changed much in size since the 1960s despite the city’s population surging by more than a million people since then.

She wrote that the call volume rose by a factor of five between 1969 and 2023, but that the department had not been given the staffing and new fire stations it needs to respond effectively, and that response times were steadily increasing."

When you come back, feel free to back up your thoughts with some substance. I thought your union pay rise point has some legs, I'd be interested in reading about it.

Not sure how a few extra tranny firepersons are going to stop the impact of ever increasing temperatures, but it's a problem we all share, no?

Worse, perhaps, is the political impact of fake news. We saw it in the Florida hurricanes - politicians playing the same games as you and the old boy, literally obstructing federal assistance with an avalanche of fake news. Mort posted articles advising citizens to confront any federal officials dropping in with firearms.

Different attitudes prevail in California, thank God. Still, the problems they face with drought and climate change get turned into these ridiculous strawmen. That's a major political problem.

Covid changed the game, I guess. If the US can't solve simple health and environmental problems without lies being thrown in just for clickbait, they're facing major social breakdown over the next few years.
