Ee-gad, you're right. I haven't once called her incompetent. Would you like me to do that for you, Gordon?

Sorry, when did the mayor come into this? How many officials are we supposed to be blaming here?

I've lost count.

Are you saying the thermometers are out or the average temperature has risen by 1.5 degrees?

I am saying you can't differentiate between temperatures that small. But I guess you have hot flushes and that's what makes you feel hot.

Every other claim you've made in this thread has been debunked, so I can see why you'd hedge on this one.

Not one has been debunked.

Lack of water does not light fires.
Temperature does not light fires.
Wind does not light fires.

It's not small, Lee. On some days and in some places, the temperature rose 5 or 6 degrees above average. On some days it was hotter than any temperature on record. On some days it was so hot people died. Then on other days things cooled down and it was all good.

I imagine you've been told that dozens of times. Still, it took you a while to understand that the LA fires weren't spread by budget cuts or black deputy mayors or tranny firepersons or the fire chief's gender or her difficulty pumping water that didn't exist, but just good old wind and heat.

I thought a volunteer fire fighter would have understood that to begin with, so it just goes to show.

We all have different levels of understanding, no?

California Gov. Newsom backs dam removal projects aimed at sustaining salmon populations
sanfrancisco
January 30, 2024 / 7:08 AM PST / AP

California Gov. Gavin Newsom is pledging to fast-track more than half a dozen projects by the end of his term to remove or bypass dams that have blocked salmon from returning to the state's chilly mountain streams and acting as the keystone of a complex ecosystem that sustains both economies and spiritual beliefs for tribes.

true to his word, he demolished them  Wink

Thanks, Aquascoot. I blame Gavin.

Can I just check what we're blaming him for? The Six Rivers National Forest is over 1000 km away from LA.

They have water - six rivers' worth, I believe.

Can you please post where I said anything about it being about the mayor being black, about tranny firepersons, her gender, or water. The truth is the budget was cut. Especially when you look at the 66million over budget expense the previous year. Budgets approved in late November2024 doesn't allow time to recruit new fire officers, and train them. The union did a deal to lower the number for increased pay. How did that work out? Roll Eyes

And also I didn't say anything about the fire spread other than wind causes rapid escalation.

Nation Gets Preview Of Gavin Newsom Presidency

...

"A flaming hellscape? Ok, good to know that's what we'd have to look forward to," North Dakota resident Mark Larsen said. "Add in rampant taxes, thousands of illegal aliens pouring across the border, and no prosecution for criminals? The country's future has never looked brighter. Brighter because of fire."

Many critics have linked the wildfires to Newsom's governance, or lack thereof, and are grateful to know now what the entire country would look like if he were president. The governor was quick to defend his record.

"My results speak for themselves," Newsom said to reporters. "And when I am president, I can assure every American that the United States will look exactly like California."

At publishing time, Newsom promised that if elected president he would immediately raise taxes, increase regulations to oppressive levels, and add an unprecedented amount to the national debt to give every American the opportunity to know what it feels like to experience the dream of living in California.

Girl Fireman Rushes Into Burning Building To Tell Victim He's Too Heavy But The Real Firemen Will Be Here In 15 Minutes

"Don't worry! I'm here to stand next to you until someone who can help you gets here," Santos was heard shouting to the suffering man. "The real firefighters will be here soon. I can't carry you out of here. I'm a girl. Isn't that awesome?"

While the 95-lb Sandros was unable to lift the man, she nonetheless stayed behind to inform him that the real firefighters would be there soon before clearing out of the building.

"Ms. Sandros displayed courage of the highest caliber in going above and beyond her duty as a girl fireman," said Los Angeles Fire Chief Kristin Crawley in a statement to the press. "We laud her for her outstanding commitment to public safety by presenting such a great example of being a girl fireman in a world full of boy firemen. Great job, Melissa — slay, queen!"

At publishing time, Sandros continued representing the very best girl firemen had to offer by arriving at the site of the Runyon Canyon wildfire to distribute sandwiches to the real firemen.

"Still, the budget picture is far from rosy. Chief Kristin M. Crowley of the Los Angeles Fire Department wrote a memo to the fire commission last month saying the overtime cut was creating “unprecedented operational challenges” — both in fulfilling everyday tasks like payroll processing and long-term planning for major emergencies like big wildfires or earthquakes.

She wrote that specialized programs, including air operations and disaster response, relied on staff working overtime hours and were at risk of becoming less effective. She added that the loss of civilian positions was also squeezing firefighters who had to backfill some of those responsibilities.

In November, Chief Crowley wrote a separate memo to the commission focusing on the bigger picture: a fire department that has not changed much in size since the 1960s despite the city’s population surging by more than a million people since then.

She wrote that the call volume rose by a factor of five between 1969 and 2023, but that the department had not been given the staffing and new fire stations it needs to respond effectively, and that response times were steadily increasing."

https://www.nytimes.com/2025/01/09/us/la-fire-department-budget-bass.html

So a budget increase but no staffing increases. That makes the union even more culpable by reducing numbers. Roll Eyes

Oh, you always say that when you're out the door, dear.

When you come back, feel free to back up your thoughts with some substance. I thought your union pay rise point has some legs, I'd be interested in reading about it.

Not sure how a few extra tranny firepersons are going to stop the impact of ever increasing temperatures, but it's a problem we all share, no?

Worse, perhaps, is the political impact of fake news. We saw it in the Florida hurricanes - politicians playing the same games as you and the old boy, literally obstructing federal assistance with an avalanche of fake news. Mort posted articles advising citizens to confront any federal officials dropping in with firearms.

Different attitudes prevail in California, thank God. Still, the problems they face with drought and climate change get turned into these ridiculous strawmen. That's a major political problem.

Covid changed the game, I guess. If the US can't solve simple health and environmental problems without lies being thrown in just for clickbait, they're facing major social breakdown over the next few years.

Remember, Lee, every lie you consume is doing you damage.

I'll be strapping on, dear, as you'd expect.

You demonstrate the point perfectly. Cadaver?
