Phew!

Los Angeles Saved After Meghan Markle Arrives To Stand Around Wearing Baseball Cap

...

LOS ANGELES, CA — In what many are already calling a modern-day miracle, the city of Los Angeles was saved after Meghan Markle arrived in the city and began standing around wearing a cap.

Residents breathed a sigh of relief as soon as they witnessed Markle aimlessly walking around in a Dodgers cap, knowing the fires could no longer touch them.

"Saved! We're saved!" cried out throngs of adoring onlookers, watching as Markle stood chatting in her cap. "Look at how she stands there, intermittently wearing a mask and a baseball cap. Take that, wildfire!"

According to sources, not since the Miracle of Dunkirk have so many lives been rescued from peril in such heroic fashion. "They way Meghan just lazily looked around, wearing a hat -- we owe her our lives," said local man Harris Denton. "If not for her, we would be lost. Long live Meghan!"

At publishing time, Los Angeles had awarded Markle the key to the city and vowed to build a monument rivaling the Statue of Liberty in honor of her great deeds.

Google “Shoplifting in San Francisco” and you will find more than 100,000 hits. And you will find lots of YouTube videos, where you can watch a single thief, or an entire gang, walk into an SF Walgreens or CVS and empty the shelves. Most walk in, go about their pilfering, and then walk out, though at least one thief rode their bike into the store and departed the same way, carefully navigating their two-wheeler down a narrow aisle.

Why is shoplifting so rampant? Because state law holds that stealing merchandise worth $950 or less is just a misdemeanor, which means that law enforcement probably won’t bother to investigate, and if they do, prosecutors will let it go.

Newsome warns looters to stay away from fire zone, just continue robbing local stores

Good news!

Newsom Reassures Fire Victims He’ll Be Prepared Next Time, Now That He Knows Water Is Useful In Fighting Fires

"I'll be the first to admit — having some water available would have been beneficial," Newsom said. "But now that we've been informed that water is helpful for extinguishing fire, we'll make sure not to put all of it back into the ocean. This time was an unavoidable mistake — we just didn't know. I plead ignorance. Now that we've learned our lesson, next wildfire season should go a bit more smoothly."

Newsom's statement came after several days of intense research into fires and how to put them out, in which his staff discovered that water was the oldest and most effective substance used by human beings to extinguish flames.

At publishing time, Newsom further reassured fire victims that the state would be even better prepared for the next wildfire season by asking the delta smelt fish if California could borrow back some of the water it gave them.

"The Department has not increased its staffing levels in over 14 years and is operating with 68 fewer sworn personnel than in 2010, yet it has experienced a 55% increase in incident responses."

https://clkrep.lacity.org/onlinedocs/2024/24-0600_misc_LAFD_1_4-23-24.pdf

Dated Apr 24.

"The Los Angeles Fire Department's Recruit Training Academy Class 23-5 celebrated their graduation on September 6, 2024, as they became proud probationary members of the LAFD. "

https://lafd.org/news/lafd-welcomes-graduates-recruit-training-academy-class-202...

Named are the 52 graduates of class 5 of 2023. Over 9 months to graduate. So how many of those "220" pass graduation that were selected in 2024?

And there is no link on this thread for 220 recruits

Oh, I know, I know! TRUMP, of course.
But he is not in any office yet.

Oh, details, details.  He is responsible. Must be. Somehow.

Ee-gad, did you just ask for details?

You?

Well I'm curious. Aren't you the same rusted-on cadaver who spent an entire thread back in 2022 saying Scomo didn't hold a hose?

We actually agreed with you. But of course, we said. PMs don't run state emergency services. He worked like a dog through covid, give him a break already.

When Sleepy Joe visits the scene in LA, Lee blames Joe, pretending he's on holidays. How very dare he/him?

When the fire commissioner dares to step out of the country for even a minute, you blame her. How very dare she/her?

When the governor visits a national park in northern California, Aquascoot blames Newscum.

Apparently he refused to pipe the water 1000 kms to southern California. Or something. How very dare they/them?

Look, we get it. You feel really hard done by. You poor fellows have had it tough, now haven't you? The leftards have been so mean and cruel.

Here you are, expressing your sincerest memes, thoughts and feelings, and they just don't care.

SO UNFAIR !!!

Mel Gibson says there is "nothing left" of his Hollywood home following the LA wildfires and "someone should answer" for the devastation.

The Braveheart star was with podcaster Joe Rogan when the flames engulfed his Malibu mansion and said he was a "little tense" while recording their discussion.

But he knew his family were "out of harm's way" and a few "necessary things" such as passports were saved.

The loss of his home and others is "tragic", however, and it "makes you really sad", he added.  While describing lost items as "only things", he said they included "works of art, photographs, [and] rare books", some of them dating back to 1600.

Regarding the conduct of the authorities, he told Fox News: "Apparently, some people were asleep on the job, mainly our leaders.

"That's something they have to live with. Kids are traumatised. Someone should answer for it."

Asked if he had a message for California governor Gavin Newsom, or Karen Bass, the mayor of Los Angeles, he commented: "Spend less on hair gel."

Do you have any hair still to gel, paki?

Nope I gave a timeline on when he was supposed to be away. He returned on January 2. Biden visited California on Jan 7, after a meeting he was supposed to have with Newsom, was called off due to high winds. He visited the fire zone January 8.

Now you can go back to your lying.

Hi Lee. The old boy thinks Gavin should spend less on hair products.

I guess he hasn't seen his DL's $70,000 annual tax deduction for hair stylists, eh?

Now, can you explain how the fire fighter's union started all this?

Chop chop.

Right. We're up to nine spineless evasions now. Look what they've done to my hair, no?

Talk about culture wars. You're such a trendy, you're using hair products to distance yourself from your lies.

Try the new improved Pert, dear. It may not happen overnight but it will happen, no?

What's the bet we can get you through to ten?

Not on my back, dear boy, but I'm considering paying Lee to do a sack and crack.

Mel Gibson on Fox, is it? You're brave. We remember the good old days, back when you had principles and blamed Islam.

Are there any whacked out celebrities you haven't quoted here yet?

Try Gary Busey. DL loved him on the Celebrity Apprentice. I believe that's why your DL's hair styling bill's so high.

Look who he's competing with.

I remember a time when disasters united us as a people, as a community.  Whatever tragic reason impelled us, we were brought together through times such as these.

And look at Gordy's thread. Did i see Frank ask how wind starts fires? And Lee ... jesus.

It's really just sad that in the face of all of this absolute horror, you lot are obsessing about how "woke" the establishment is. That is seriously you're foremost thought. Falling over yourselves to pillory somebody with that your foremost thought. Us and themism, in a time we are in tuth united in eery way that actually matters.

It's not my foremost thought. I'm thinking about the loss. Compassion. Empathy. Sympathy. Community.

The time for recrimination is not now. Shame on you who make that their got to. What on earth do you think you're achieving? What actually is your point? Whaat is it that you are trying to achieve?

I would hardly consider the sellout (sic) of a national security issue public utility/right/need such as water to some business conglomerate to be 'woke' - more like another case of asleep at the wheel in return for sufficient dollars, and 'woke' can be in exactly the same category.

Too many of you try desperately to imagine that the world is black and white, when it is all grey.  I suppose that suits your victimhood narratives better ... make it all about 'us' and 'them' without reading a single word or looking at a single fact.   Grin
