You may have misunderstood the question.

No I included the wrong link.

Here is the right one.

Changed burning practices have a large input into fire size. Wink

“Even with the rain, a 5,000‐acre brush fire at Vandenberg Air Force Base in which three persons died was reported only one‐third contained. Firefighters from the Air Force and surrounding counties used bulldozers in an attempt to control the fire on the 98,400‐acre base 50 miles northwest of Santa Barbara.”

https://www.nytimes.com/1977/12/22/archives/winds-blamed-in-9-coast-deaths.html

December is still winter isn’t it?

Changed burning practices have a large say in fire size.

Yeah, it's a real problem here too, especially with climate change shrinking the viable window for hazard-reduction burns.

Oh right, I mean DEI.  Forgot we can't mention climate change and have to deflect to and blame DEI.

You didn't read past the headlines again.

"Air temperatures have increased over the past century, driven mainly by changes in nighttime temperatures."

So tell us how nighttime temperatures start fires? Grin Grin Grin Grin

"Temperatures are also influenced by the natural and urban landscape, elevation, proximity to the ocean, and atmospheric and oceanic circulations.

Changes in land use and land surface exert local effects on temperature. For example, heat-absorbing concrete and asphalt in buildings and roads have a warming effect, and irrigation has a cooling effect. "

Also known as UHI.  More people means more roads.

And nothing there about wind. Wink

What !! You don't believe that hot winter nights burn down the Rocky Mountains? You think snow falls when in fact 33 out of 29 scientists say it rises from rabbit burrows. Read the headlines again.

Nothing. They don't.

Now post a completely unrelated article about unions - or a pic of a rainbow fire hydrant.

That could work, no?
