Ooh increase in November. Just in time for the Christmas break. Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

No no, I asked you about the current drought. And the hottest Summer, and the windiest Winter.

If you don't want to answer, just say why. Why do you refuse to discuss the weather?

We're British.

Ooh-er. Water catchments, is it?

I see. Where do you think the Los Angeles Fire Commissioner finds the water to pump from her catchments?

I mean, here's Gordon suggesting trannie firepersons can't hold the hose to drain those catchments.

Too offensive and triggering, I guess.

And here's the old boy suggesting she's over in Ghana doing some Voodoo rain dance to fill those catchments.

Too backward, primitive and tinted.

And here's you, blaming the leftards' funding cuts. So hypocritical and typical of the left, eh?

Particularly when the funding increased by $53 mil.

Now, what were you saying about the LA drought again?

Cheers.

So WHAT IS the task of a mayor and a fire chief?

Diversity? African flouncing and post-colonial preening? LGBTQ+ boosterism?

No.

Fire fighter = fight fires. Not DEI, NOT race, pronouns, not who tickles your lady bits.

That's a question, is it?

That was quick. Back to intelligence and integrity, are we?

No more correlation for you.

You keep lying, old boy, we'll keep admiring your stool.

Good show.

Here you go, Lee. Don't watch this one.

You might want to find a non-News Ltd site about the Darkies instead.

Maybe ask Bobi for one of his memes.

FBI agents searched the home of a Los Angeles deputy mayor on Tuesday as part of an investigation into whether he made a bomb threat against City Hall, officials said.

Zach Seidl, a spokesperson for Mayor Karen Bass, said she was notified that the search took place at the home of Brian K. Williams, her deputy mayor for public safety, as part of an investigation into a bomb threat Williams “allegedly made” this year.

So which one lit the fire?

Drought? Nope. Drought doesn't light fires

Wind? - Nope. It doesn't light fires either.

"Hottest Summer"?  So tell us how a 1C anomaly started a fire. Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

BTW - strangely Southern California is in a +/-0.2C zone. Wink

Lighting fires, is it?

I see. So whodunnit?

We've gone from the Fire Commissioner to tranny firepersons to voodoo high priestesses in deepest darkest Ghana.

Sheesh, we've even dredged up New Zealand naval captains in our search for the culprit.

Along the way, we've explored water catchments (empty), fire department funding (increased) and now unprecedented heat and wind (that somehow, against all expert advice, doesn't spread fires).

Do you know what you are, Lee?

You're a real bright spark. You're our board's resident expert fireman, no?

Sorry, dear. Fireperson.

DEI, innit.

LA Mayor Karen Bass cut fire department funding by $17.6M, focused on homeless spending— months before wildfires turned city into hellscape

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass faced scorching criticism Wednesday as it was revealed she cut the city’s Fire Department budget by $17.6 million ahead of this week’s devastating fires – as she prioritized funds for its massive homeless population that largely went unspent, according to a report.

The cut was the second largest in Bass’ 2024-25 fiscal budget, city figures show – and it wasn’t even the gutting she wanted.

If she had it her way, the LAFD budget would have been slashed by $23 million.

LA budgeted $837 million for the Bravest in fiscal year 2023-2024 — which was shockingly 65% of the $1.3 billion slated for the homeless, according to Fox News.

A city comptroller study found that nearly half of that funding went unused, according to the outlet.

Oh dear , another right wing "alternative facts " story.

Critics on social media have alleged that Mayor Karen Bass cut the city fire department’s budget by $23 million this year. The accusation has spread quickly, with many looking to cast blame for the devastating wildfires that have destroyed thousands of buildings in Los Angeles County this week and resulted in at least 4 deaths.

In her story on criticism’s of Mayor Bass during this crisis, reporter Linh Tat addressed the budget question.

“On Thursday, a spokesperson for L.A. City Councilmember Bob Blumenfield, who was budget chair last year, said the city increased the fire department’s overall budget by approximately $53 million in the current fiscal year. However, $76 million – intended to pay for fire department personnel – was placed in a fund separate from the fire department’s regular account when the budget was adopted because contract negotiations with department employees were still taking place at the time.”  As a result, if you just compare the LAFD’s budget last year to this year’s, it looks like it went down $23M. But that’s because when the budget was adopted last May or June, the city was still negotiating those new contracts. The $76M that was set aside in a separate account ultimately was moved once the MOUs were finalized.

How peculiar. So far, we've got Gordon, Frank and Lee, all waiting on their prizes.

The old boy's easy, not sure what to give Gordon.

A week away in a go-go bar in Laos would be nice.

You know, somewhere with ethanol.

Oh, so a budget cuts NOW are not real if you include FUTURE budget allocations.

There will be more money AFTER the fires!  Yay!

Was there any cut to the LGBTQ+ Outreach Department of the FDLA?
Er... no. That was a priority. Ahead of trivialities like water in hydrants.
