How?

Perhaps 10 years ago when cash was still a thing.

These days it isn't difficult to be cashless. I mean it has been months since I had any cash in my wallet.

They can use the debit card almost everywhere... except at bottle shops, pubs, tobacconists etc.

The dole is there to pay for essentials. The debit card doesn't stop this.

What is the actual objection to limiting welfare recipients' spending on alcohol and pokeys?
In what way is that hardship?

Maybe cigarettes and alcohol should be free and we can tax big business to pay for it. Now that would be a winner for the greens.

I've never been to a garage sale that has eftpos facilities. Besides, card payments usually have fees attached

Well I'm not happy with my taxes going towards grog and gambling. You only get those privileges when you contribute to society.

Last garage sale I had a lovely customer organised me so people could pay me directly into my account.

It’s easy when your shown.

80% of my sales ended up going that way.
Mine was a pop up too take advantage of a big tourist event a block away so that might be why no one was carrying cash ?
