Jan 26 belongs to NSW, George III and convicts. Thomas Barrett was the first person executed in the New South Wales colony, and was hanged in Port Jackson on February 27, 1788. Barrett was a convict who was sentenced to death for stealing food.

It is 'Victoria'. Vic. Funny footie. 4 seasons in 1 day. No flogging, leg-irons and starving on Pinchgut. Just gold-mad money grubbers. Disgusting. Not Australian.

'A ship's captain had authority to inflict a punishment of up to 48 lashes for a single offence. A court martial could hand down sentences of up to one thousand lashes in exceptional cases. Flogging has never actually been abolished in the Royal Navy, although it has been suspended since 1879.'

Prince Harry keeps flogging a dead horse and Charles has lashed Prince Andrew. Lidia Thorpe was just lucky on the day.
