Let's be frank for a moment (not the dickhead here on the forum, the other kind of Frank).
What Elon did was a Nazi Salute.
It just was.
Is that what he meant?
That I don't know.
He is an incredibly uncharismatic and awkward man. He may have undergone gender-affirming treatment to improve his masculinity and have Billions of dollars behind him, but he's still a socially awkward, foolish idiot.
It's easy to get swept up in the moment, especially in victory, and do something stupid.
But here’s the uncomfortable truth for some:
he did it.
No amount of mental gymnastics or pseudo-intellectual geometry can erase the physical motion he chose to make. Stop pretending otherwise. Get help.
And let’s not confuse the issue, context and intention do matter. Personally, I don’t think Elon Musk consciously meant to project Nazism in that moment. But the fact remains: that is what he did.
Was it some sort of bizarre muscle memory? Highly doubtful. Was it pure idiocy? More likely. But this desperate parade of excuses, this laughable attempt to deny what plainly occurred, is embarrassing.
Here’s a challenge for those falling over themselves to defend him: if you truly believe it wasn’t a Nazi salute, start using that gesture yourself.
At your child’s next parent-teacher night, introduce yourself with the same motion.
When giving a work presentation, begin by mimicking the gesture.
If it’s so innocent, so misunderstood, you should have no problem adopting it into your daily life.
What’s that? Uncomfortable? Good. Now, stop making excuses for what he did.
