Speaking of the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM).

I've mentioned this several times in the past but I'm still curious as to the reason why they never say "Hot", "Very Hot" and "Extremely Hot" in their weather forecasts these days?

They haven't done it for quite a few years now. Here's Perth, for example:

http://www.bom.gov.au/wa/forecasts/perth.shtml

It's all "Sunny", "Mostly Sunny", "Mostly Clear" or "Partly Cloudy" as far as the eye can see... even when the temperature hits 40 degrees Celsius (it was 42 or 43 degrees here last Monday and it was still "Sunny" in the forecast).

I strongly suspect the change was made due to the large number of idiots who were probably abusing the BOM for those "hot", "very hot" and "extremely hot" days because they "made it happen" due to their forecasts.  Cheesy

And I'll be the majority of them were conspiracy theorists like good old CerealBrain here.

Someone said we could not judge a person's Aboriginality on their skin colour.  Why isn't that applied in the matter of Pascoe?  Tsk, tsk, tsk...   Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Bizarrely I’ve noticed the random greening of central Australia in the last six months on mainstream media news weather ?

Must be easier to play with pencils than fact
