Aye - that be cultural enrichment by the pork sword!! So where does this Noongar heritage come into it? Did she get aboriginal funding when younger? She definitely looks Indian though. Kerr has no Aboriginal heritage. There are plenty of cases of Sri Lankan/Ceylonese Australians claiming to be Aboriginal. Timorese migrants have also got on that bandwagon. Yes, Indians in particular have tried it on numerous times. So I thought it might have been the same with Sam Kerr. Aboriginal funding is very generous. This is from the Sydney Morning Herald ... Sam Kerr’s Public Statements on Aboriginal Heritage: Sam Kerr freely revealed her Aboriginal background in many interviews. She has talked about her relationships with her father’s Indigenous background, but she also said she was not raised with a close relationship to the Indigenous people. Kerr clarified in an interview with the Sydney Morning Herald that although she is proud of her Aboriginal background, her family was not well-connected in Indigenous groups, thus mainstream Australian culture had more influence on her upbringing. She's a bloody liar that's why she has no connection. She has no Aboriginal blood. I agree that she's not aboriginal. But she's definitely not the only Indian claiming aboriginality - and the benefits that go with it. So I'm wondering why did Jasin put this thread in Aboriginal Affairs? Diversity curry - git it Indi'ya.
