Oh I know that bit of history. And lets not get personal.
The second significant migration.
Have not fully studied. Basically the Roman Empire conquered Judea, and destroyed the second temple. And the Jews were captured and sold as slaves. And the Romans renamed Judaea province of Syria Palestina. The first time, the word Palestine exited as a place.
The first 'insignificant' migration.
The golden of the Jewish kingdom(s) was during the time of David and his son Solomon. In fact, even during this time, what is modern day Israel is divided into two Kingdoms - Kingdom of Israel and Kingdom of Judah. The house of David rules the Kingdom of Judah. And that was the golden era until Solomon's death. After which, even though both Kingdoms still exist in name, they were divided among different tribes in Northern and Southern Israel. This followed by a period of internal conflict and fighting, which greatly diminished its economy and military.
And they were conquered one by one. Kingdom of Israel was conquered by Assyrians. And Kingdom of Judah was conquered by the Babylonians.
This is a fascinating period of history, of heroes, kings and war. Can probably make a better Game of Throne type story.
