Naked Wines credit card fraud
Feb 10th, 2025 at 12:23pm

I bought another case of wine from Naked Wines last year. Since then they have been making unauthorised charges to my credit card of $40 per month. They did this once before, but refunded the money and managed to convince me it was my fault for ticking some box to permit them to make these charges, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt and made sure I didn't do it this time.

I emailed them three times, but they did not refund the money.

I got on the phone with them today, and instead of refunding the money, they actually charged it again to my credit card. So they have now doubled the amount of money they stole from me.

You use that $40 as credit on yournext purchase. Thats how it works.

I am not going to buy anything from them again. They are scammers. I did not authorise the charges or sign up for that. I am going to have to cancel my credit card now.

I got a gift card from them a few years back offering free wine ... once you tried to use it and read the details , it turned out it was only once I spent $120 or some such rubbish. Threw it away and I have ignored them ever since

You did sign up but you are illiterate, even after it's been explained to you.

Actually this mob sent my daughter a gift card when she was 16. She was a non drinker then and practically a non-dinker at 18. No idea how they got her details but I called them and ripped them a new one.

Dont do that. Log in, just spend whatever you have in credit with them ($40/month) and then cancel your subscription (not your card).
It would be daft to cancel your credit card over this.

Here’s how it works.
You pay into your wine account every month to save toward your future orders. So when you see something you like, order the wines and we’ll deliver the best wines you’ve ever tasted straight to your door. No losing the will to live in the wine aisle. No tie-ins. Just really great wine.

They are not stealink your $40. It's just an accumulatinv fund you can spend any time. You can cancel the monthly payment any time.

No point having a big girly huff.

I emailed them, but that did not work. I called them on the phone and they agreed to refund the money, but charged me more instead. I am not going to reward them for that by spending money with them. I want them charged with fraud.

Also, the regular prices look way too expensive for the wine you get.

Ever get the feeling you're dealing with a Peccary that's saying "Nana you can't get me."?
