I bought another case of wine from Naked Wines last year. Since then they have been making unauthorised charges to my credit card of $40 per month. They did this once before, but refunded the money and managed to convince me it was my fault for ticking some box to permit them to make these charges, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt and made sure I didn't do it this time.

I emailed them three times, but they did not refund the money.

I got on the phone with them today, and instead of refunding the money, they actually charged it again to my credit card. So they have now doubled the amount of money they stole from me.

You use that $40 as credit on yournext purchase. Thats how it works.

I am not going to buy anything from them again. They are scammers. I did not authorise the charges or sign up for that. I am going to have to cancel my credit card now.

Dont do that. Log in, just spend whatever you have in credit with them ($40/month) and then cancel your subscription (not your card).
It would be daft to cancel your credit card over this.

Here’s how it works.
You pay into your wine account every month to save toward your future orders. So when you see something you like, order the wines and we’ll deliver the best wines you’ve ever tasted straight to your door. No losing the will to live in the wine aisle. No tie-ins. Just really great wine.

They are not stealink your $40. It's just an accumulatinv fund you can spend any time. You can cancel the monthly payment any time.

No point having a big girly huff.

An accumulation fund that they earn interest on - be lucrative with every customer signed up like that and only ordering once or twice a year.

Yeah nah ... I don't like that idea either. $40 in your bank is better than in theirs.

Especially when they go broke and disappear.

Look on the bright side FD.
At least you didn't pay Monk $60 to send you one of his favourite wines.

I never go for those wine card offers, as we don’t drink that much alcohol and when we do… we prefer to buy our fave ones in store.
But as for cancelling credit cards… I have lost count last year how many times I had to… or the bank did if online scam was detected…
And this year… already again ….  Roll Eyes

It’s no big deal cancelling old card and getting a new one… as long as you call all business that take direct debit out … such as telecommunication, electricity, health funds etc. phone to give them new card number…
I can’t wait to see how many times this year I’m getting new visa card replacement   Grin
