Speed cameras will do what speed cameras do - raise money while having no impact on anything else. They often make an area more dangerous to drive not less.

You're obviously a Lefty retard who doesn't stick to the limit and whinge that you have to pay money. Of course they don't work for gronks like you.   Roll Eyes

But they don’t stop speeding they only record the fact and they are often situated at the foot of hills where it is easy to inadvertently exceed the limit.
Never seen one yet on a long straight road.

If Governments were really concerned about road safety there would be positive camber on roundabouts and so many roundabouts would not have vision obstructing vegetation on them.

Personally I don’t understand why the cameras don’t do rego checks?

An excellent point and one that would achieve something worthwhile.

Not to worry you haven't damaged your record of being incorrect 99% of the time. Haven't had a ticket in 40 years. Fact is that speed cameras are more likely to cause an accident than to prevent one.

There’s talk of dropping the speed from 50 Kph to 30 Kph in built up burbs.
I mean there should be more programmes to teach kids about road safety rules.
In my day, there were no zebra crossings or lollipop folk…. We had a jingle “look right, look left, look right again, then walk straight across the road, don’t run”

Recently I received my licence renewal, there was a discount because of good driving with no fines in a certain amount of years.
Well that was a nice surprise.

After I do my rego every year I check to make sure - know more than one person who did it automatically and was caught out - happened to me once - paid the bills etc, then drove for three months without knowing it hadn't gone through.  Just a wee glitch they said - system changeover..
