It is really hard to watch and hard to believe it actually happened in the Oval Office. It just beggars belief and you have to wonder in what alternate reality Trump and Vance are living. None of what they said was true. Not one thing. Trump and Vance were massively disrespectful to Zelenskyy, trying to change the facts to suit their warped sense of reality and attacking the President of Ukraine for standing up for his country and his people. It was a shameful display by Trump and Vance. Absolutely appalling behaviour from those two.

Zelenskyy needs to now freeze the US out of any further negotiations with Russia and instead seek a peace deal that involves Europe and European leaders from France, the UK, Germany and Italy. This is a problem that affects Europe and Trump has said so himself, that America is not affected by this war by Russia. It affects security in Europe and it must be solved by Europe. Trump is clearly too mentally unstable to negotiate any kind of deal and must be frozen out of this and Zelenskyy should call a press conference saying exactly this.

Ukraine is losing -
they have lost maybe half a million people and many cities are demolished -
like Mariupol.
If it goes on more people will die and maybe the whole of Ukraine will be demolished.
It could also lead to WW3 – a nuclear war where we all die.
Does Zelensky care about us or even his own people?

Of course Ukraine is losing. They're a much smaller military but they've done an astonishing job of defending their country.[/quoter]

But here's the thing that Trump - and apparently you also - seem to have forgotten. Zelenskyy didn't start this war. He's doing the best he can to defend his country.

"Defend" his country?

You are sounding like Albo (and the mainstream commentariat including all war-mongers) who are bleating about 'international rule of law' despite the fact it doesn't exist, owing to your obsolete 'absolute national sovereignty' theory (resulting in the UNSC veto).

Wake up.

Quote:
That's what any reasonable person would expect from a democratically elected leader of a country invaded by a dictator. I would expect nothing less from Albanese if Australia was invaded by an aggressor. All that Trump cares about is getting a peace deal so he can look good.

Your error: the question is WHY would  your country be invaded (whether by a dictator or not)? Neither  Russia or China have designs on Oz, because the principle of multi- polarity is now respected by most of the world including Russia and China, and Oz is part of the US pole.

Quote:
Trump doesn't care how he gets a peace deal or what Ukraine must give up.

Trump wants to 'MAGA', and he can't do it if he has to support a loser who is relying on support from US taxpayers (like non-US NATO itself, which has hidden behind US skirts since NATO's inception).

Was it Vance who asked why he wasn't wearing a suit? Like WTF? What a ridiculous question

Zelenski should have replied that his tailor had been blown up by russian rockets

Trump said it when he greeted Zelenskyy when he got out of the car, mocking him for coming dressed for the occasion. Seriously, who cares what the man wears when he's trying to defend his country from a murderous dictator? Let him come in trackies and a hoodie - who cares?

The little front bottom got thrown out of the Whitehouse for his antagonistic arrogant behaviour - and he turned up looking like a bag of poo 💩

Without the backing of the US and Allies he wouldn’t have such a big mouth… he’d have been obliterated by now…

Disrespectful ungrateful POS…

His time is coming to an end…

The only people I saw being disrespectful were Trump and Vance. On the other hand, Zelenskyy showed great restraint. Trump is a dumbass and Vance is just his puppet.

Says it all: the delusional  "freedom or death" ideologues can't even see how little they care about living well, so they insist on the "right" to die in "just"  wars.

(By definition, delusions die hard...).

Zelensky assured Rubio the mineral deal was locked in, and Rubio confidently told the president it was a done deal, with Zelensky visiting the White House to sign.

Instead, Zelensky shifted the goalposts—demanding US ground troops, knowing Trump wouldn’t agree. Zelensky isn’t an honest broker.

Ukraine has every right to defend itself against Russia invading its territory. No sane person would expect otherwise. I would expect our PM to defend our country from an invasion by another country. Nothing controversial about that.

Please show the transcript where Zelenskyy moved the goal posts and/or demanded US troops in Ukraine.

Yep.

Zelenskyy handled himself like a true statesman.

Trump & Vance acted like a couple of (primary) schoolyard bullies.

World leaders will take note.

They already are - European leaders are criticising Trump and pledging to continue to support Ukraine.

A True Statesman?  Grin

He couldn’t even turn up dressed properly in a Suit to the Highest Office in the land…

Then continually played with his nose the entire meeting like he’d been snorting cocaine ..

No, he licked Trumps' arse to curry favour with him. Most of the Republicans have been doing this to secure his support among his MAGA cult members.
