You are both forgetting (e): a deal with Trump for Russia to take Donbass and Crimea (majority Russian speaking areas), with the stipulation the (reduced) Ukraine will automatically join NATO if Russia breaks the deal.

You are both forgetting (e): a deal with Trump for Russia to take Donbass and Crimea (majority Russian speaking areas), with the stipulation the (reduced) Ukraine will automatically join NATO if Russia breaks the deal.

Its a bit sketchy isn't it, there is no assurances that in ten years time under new leaders Ukraine might align with Russia again. There has already been turmoil in Ukraine government and with so many ethnic groups anything could happen. If NATO get involved they could be biting off more than they can chew. Ukraine has the ability to drag NATO into conflicts it may prefer to avoid. Things are going to change in Ukraine especially when Zelensky is out of the picture.

The US, like Russia, has somewhat more nuke capacity...and Bin Laden was in Pakistan which the Pakis wouldn't have admitted to knowing (since the US is an ally).

Pakistan has got nothing, if they tried to launch a nuclear weapon the US would destroy it on the launch pad. America went into Pakistan just down the road from a military complex that was protecting Bin Laden blew up a house, crashed a helicopter, killed Bin Laden and flew home and the Pakistan military didn't have a clue.
