Units and apartments went up 14% the last 8 months in a suburb next to mine.

People will pay anything to get a humble roof over their head.
50 or 60 people line up to rent a little one bedroom flat at high rental prices.

Albo doesn't care about people at all,  at all,  at all.

I read an article in a newspaper last weekend showing a photo of an enclosed balcony for rent in Sydney at $250 a week and I thought, this is just ridiculous. I actually think it's harder to get a rental than it is for a home loan these days, which is just insane. It's only gotten worse under Labor.

I'll be heading to the polls two weeks before that.

As soon as the early voting booth locations are announced,
I'll be casting my vote (for my local Labor representative).

Good grief - you rusted on Labor automaton.     Roll Eyes

And you're going to vote for your local Liberal member, so that makes you a rusted on Liberal automaton.

What's your point?

I will vote for an Independent.

Labor will be put last.

Albo has gotta go.

How can you claim you're going to vote for already, especially in terms of Independent, the election was called a matter of hours ago.

Do you even know who your Indis are?

Seems like you're too shy to admit that you'll be voting Coalition and trying to hide it by pretending to vote Indi.

SB, beyond memes and recycled slogans, how exactly do you quantify the supposed economic devastation Labor has inflicted, especially when institutions like the IMF have praised their management and they’ve delivered surpluses without resorting to austerity?

You’re making grand claims, yet offering nothing but the hollow echoes of partisan talking points.

Care to substantiate your argument, or is regurgitation the extent of your economic analysis?

Just look at the cost of groceries now compared to three years ago. Look at the cost of electricity now compared to three years ago. Look at the lack of bulk billing now compared to three years ago. That's just a few examples of Labor's incompetence driving up the cost of living and with it, inflation.

You haven't highlighted the driving mechanisms that lead to these increases.

If you listen to Dutton, the answer will be immigration.

It's a component, a small one.

Let's say Dutton wins, cut migration rates, and it doesn't make a difference, what then?

It'll be too late by then, but who will you blame then?

Now is the time to educate yourself before you go to the polls.  Find out why and see who is really addressing those issues.

Hint, it's not Dutton.

No - Dutton is not radical enough for me.
He only wants to reduce immigration
from net 185,000 to net 145,000.
I'll work out the best independent candidate
over the next month.

Have you taken the time to educate yourself on why migration rates are at their current levels and the broader economic factors driving the cost of living crisis, or are you committed to remaining an uninformed, single-issue voter clinging to simplistic narratives?

Dear Kanga,
many blessings.

Only 1,800 out of the last 765,000
immigrants had any house building
qualifications.

Albo is importing migrants we don't  need
and there is nowhere for them to live.
Is he retarded?

Dutton also wants to streamline the public service. Some of the executive roles in the public service get paid more than the Prime Minister does, and that's ridiculous. Labor has added some 40,000 people to the ranks of the public service in less than three years. I wonder how many are in six-figure paying roles? He can start by abolishing the Ambassador for First Nations People, which I think he has said he will do - and rightly so. He is being paid up to $326,000 a year in addition to an additional $358,000 international travel budget. For what? I haven't seen how this role has benefited ordinary Aboriginal people in any way, shape or form.

It's about the answers, I'm just wondering how informed you are, or how willing to be informed you are.

I don't want to waste either of our time if you've already made your mind up and are just looking for excuses to justify it like most people you deal with here.

yes, funny how the it takes longer to build a house then destroy it ... and the libs have spent ten years destroying the economy. Inflation is lower now then it was when they took over so the road to recovery is starting, but it can't happen in one term. NOTHING the libs have suggested will curb property price rises and rent increases ... nothing. The only thing that might have had a real impact would have been cuts to CGT and NG ... but the libs made sure that would never happen.

by increasing spending an extra $20B per YEAR on contractors Cheesy Cheesy

At least Dutton has a genuine plan for that other than a handout - a gas reservation policy will help in bringing down electricity prices whereas Albo's rebates do nothing.

he has no gas reservation policy. He has refused to make it a law .. according to him the gas companies will do it because he has asks them Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy
