I had to explain how we had a knob on the TV that you actually got up and walked over to and then turned. LOL
Yes, I'm old.
Oh dear. I can remember that too.....
I remember our first remote control telly, it had a remote on a long cord, and the knob would turn on the telly when you used the remote. It would not jump from channel to channel, but clunk around the dial, but we only had three channels back then anyway, 2, 7, and 9. I still loved having it, and got addicted to channel surfing at a young age, much to my dad's annoyance.
"stop pushing that bloody thing, before you break it"
I used to sit there in front of the TV at 5:59 AM, waiting for the first show of the day, my beloved cartoons, I even liked the channel 9 station ID that had a cartoon guy running down a hall switching all the lights on, to show they were ready to begin the days shows.
I still remember being p1ssed off one morning when instead of the usual programs, they just had aprinted screen saying that President Kennedy had been shot and out of respect, the mornings cartoons had been cancelled, so had nothing to watch.
I could not imagine any world leader ever being mourned like that again, they were far more naive days.
