Bulldozers clear plane crash site

Ukraine says US has given it 'important' evidence
Iranian bulldozers clear plane crash site before Ukrainian investigators arrive
Tehran continues to claim crash was an accident, Pompeo joins Western officials insisting they have evidence that the Ukrainian airliner was shot down by an Iranian missile.

Iran has used bulldozers to clear away debris at the site of Ukrainian airliner crash, potentially destroying evidence as Tehran continues to deny Western allegations that one of its own missiles downed the jet, killing all 176 people on board.

Photos from the site show at least one bulldozer clearing away wreckage and Giancarlo Fiorella of Bellingcat, a journalism website that focuses on fact-finding, said the group had verified pictures of other bulldozers at work at the scene, calling it “distressing.”

“It’s distressing, this is a potential crime scene, if this was a shoot down you don’t want to disturb the crash site before a thorough investigation has taken place,” he told the UK’s Channel 4 news. “The presence of heavy machinery, the bulldozing of the wreckage is very distressing.”

The SA-15 surface-to-air missile system — which US officials say shot down the plane in the early hours of Wednesday —is a Russian-made air defense system known as Tor.

The short-range, ground-based missile system, also known as Gauntlet by NATO, integrates the radar and missile launcher on a vehicle, according to Jane's by IHS Markit.

Its short-range missiles are designed to hit targets at altitudes of up to 6,000 meters (19,685 feet) and a range of up to 15 km (9.3 miles), and can destroy a number of targets — helicopters, guided missiles and tactical and naval aircraft.

It is unclear whether the missile defense system was positioned around Imam Khomeini International Airport.

What Iran is saying: Iran dismissed the allegation as a "big lie" today. Ali Abedzadeh, the head of the Iran Civil Aviation Organization, said videos showing an object hitting the aircraft could not be confirmed scientifically.

Iran plane crash: 'More time needed for investigation' - Ukraine.
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-51067545

It is too soon to draw any conclusions on what brought down a Ukrainian passenger plane in Iran on Wednesday, Ukraine's foreign minister has said.

"We have so many different versions of what could [have] happened to the plane that we need some time to really understand," Vadym Prystaiko said.

His comments come a day after Western powers said they had strong evidence that the plane was hit by an Iranian missile - a claim rejected by Tehran.

All 176 people on board were killed.

The crash of Ukraine International Airlines flight PS752 near Tehran airport came just hours after Iran carried out missile strikes on two airbases housing US forces in Iraq.

yep

IF it happened at all

Then we look around

which entity wants war?

Pick one

I pick izrael

as do most commenters online elsewhere

So
(1) IF it happened at all

(2) which entity would be most motivated

I've never heard of Israel calling for the death & destruction of all it's surrounding hostile Arab neighbours.

That cannot be said of Iran who along with others have always done it.... with the addition of the Great Satan America.

Trigger happy Iranians after the Yanks got a drone through & popped off one of their head terrorists.

Got all the gear but can't make a determination about what type of aircraft it's shooting at.

Much like the Russians & Flight MH17 over the Ukraine.  Roll Eyes

The Iranians are trigger happy.
They shot down their own people
and are now trying to bulldoze the evidence.

Greggy - if you had a boil on your arse
or a bee sting on your face -
you'd blame it on Trump.
You're sick.

This is 100% Trump's fault.

If he hadn't murdered that Iranian General, that missile would never have been in the air.

The alleged child rapist has the blood of another 176 innocent victims on his hands.
