Seeing as it keeps derailing the other threads...

The problem is neoliberal market policies adopted since then, which have seen stagnating wages at the bottom end

You sure about that?

Wage inequality and neoliberalism:
the Australian experience
Ian Watson *
Macquarie University, Australia;
Social Policy Research Centre, UNSW, Australia

Abstract: This article examines wage inequality in Australia from1982 to 2012 using income distribution data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics. The analysis shows that wage inequality grew steadily during this period, and that the growth was particularly strong from 1996 onward. Through the use of quantile regression it is possible to decompose the growth in inequality into three components:changes in the wage structure, changes in workforce characteristics,
and a residual (‘unobservables’). The results of this analysis are conclusive among male full-time employees: despite the conventional wisdom that the changing nature of the workforce contributed to the
growth of inequality, I find that the changes in the wage structure accounted for more than three quarters of this growth. In the case of female full-time employees changes in the wage structure accounted for about half of this growth. The article locates these findings within
an analysis of neoliberalism in Australia and suggests that deindustrialisation and financialisation appear to be closely related to increased wage inequality.

Do you understand the difference between wage stagnation and wage inequality?

The Anzacs supposedly died for our 'freedoms'; but surely not to suffer the imposition of a vicious greedy neoliberal orthodoxy that sees 150,000 Aussies homeless, and 1 in 6 kids living in poverty; and associated family dysfunction which has necessitated the states and federal Attorneys General to try to deal with the problem.

Yep, that's what they died for. And those poor children you like to shed a fake tear for are wealthier than most Chinese kids.

Do you think China is prosperous?

Behind the glam reporting on Chinese society by CCP owned/controlled media, there seems to be very little, real, societal cohesion within Chinese society - except perhaps for the super rich.

There seem to be plenty of 'murmerings' against perceived internal injustices being imposed by the 'neglect' or corrupt actions of CCP authorities.

e.g.
we see the example of ordinary working people in China, that have borrowed [huge loans] to buy an apartment [in a high rise] off a developer/builder, then find they have been 'dudded' by the corrupt or incompetent developer/builder.
holding a huge debt, in their loan.
with nowhere for the borrower to get any redress, re the 'property' they have contracted to buy.
