Autism is a spectrum disorder. A neurological disorder.

From your comment I can only assume your 2 grandkids must just touch the spectrum.

My youngest son has Aspergers. He's gorgeous and super intelligent (like his nerdy geeky dad). But he's got a few difficulties. I'm not in denial over those issues. Those difficulties are in effect disabilities which require intervention.

Note : He was diagnosed by my brother in law who is a paediatrician (at age 3) so in effect we jumped on it early AND quickly. He's pretty much fine now except he gets the sh1ts big time if he doesn't come 1st in everything at school. He usually does (thank God). Otherwise all Hell breaks loose. At age 8 he announced his intention to go to Sydney Uni and study engineering. Why? So he could help fix the world 😳

This tendency to FIX THE WORLD around you so it's perfect is part n parcel of autism. As a caring and responsible parent you do NOT take advantage of it NOR do you exploit it! Instead you sensitively nurture your child's desire to fix the world by making sure you oversee the progress of your child with appropriate qualified intervention of course to ensure you do not set your child up for failure!

Now let's get back to Greta...my concern for that autistic child centres on the fact that she IS being manipulated, exploited and being set up for failure. That's flagrant abuse of a vulnerable child with a neurological disorder! The outcome of such a destructive process will be self destruction.

Now tell me Gnads ..who do you think is worse? The Black African Muslim misogynistic Tate or those (parents plus public relations hangers on) using and abusing Greta? What about the idiots on OzPol who are condoning what's going on with the child? What's your view of them? Idiots like Dnaever, Methra and Groggy, Frodo and their plethora of shared fake ids? I've quickly read your reply ( which is currently hiding as the pages of this topic are not turning properly ).

You should obviously now realise that the topic was really NEVER about Tate vs Greta. Nor did I ever ask you to compare and contrast Greta wrt Tate.

But please don't start comparing or contrasting child abuse scenarios with me.

I won't play. You'll have to find someone else I'm afraid.

Note : At 1 stage I worked in the area (and like many others) I suffered from burn out. I will leave you with this thought though : children with neurological disorders or mental health disorders for that matter who experience child abuse very rarely fully recover. Irrespective of whether you or I make the value judgment that their level or type of abuse may/may not be as severe as other children's experiences.

And it breaks my heart to say this next bit but unfortunately it's true: Many of the children I and others once worked with ended up dead (they committed suicide) or in jail (for attempted murder/murder).

I'll leave OUR discussion there if you don't mind Gnads.

The term "Asperger's" was retired 10 years ago with the publication of the DSM-5.
