I wish I could say I was surprised that a six year old in the US can access a firearm, take it to school and shoot his teacher, but I can't. Hope the teacher gets a good result.

Well, I suppose with the teacher trying to sue the school administrators for $US40 million, it does give a reason to roll your eyes to the matter. If the teacher was injured to the point that she was permanently immobilised, I suppose some 8-figure compensation claim could be made. But, I could not imagine the teacher getting much more than single-figure millions in a lawsuit.
